Save yourself the hassle and easily repair your own Joycons. We use these kits to repair and fully refurbish Joycons and have not had issues with any parts. The thumbsticks are version two variants, which are significantly more reliable than the earlier iterations.
Each individual joystick can be used to replace either the left or right Joycon. Also, avoid using cheap screw drivers, purchase the aluminum handled screwdriver with solid bits that won't strip, and won't strip your screws.
